‘love is blind’ it is a true saying because love never choose a partner in regards of caste , color , size , shape and not even sex and here a suppressed part of our society is reviled which fall in love with the same sex who are called homosexuals .Wikipedia defines it as ‘Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior between members of the same sex or gender. As an orientation, homosexuality refers to “an enduring pattern of or disposition to experience sexual, affectionate, or romantic attractions” primarily or exclusively to people of the same sex. “It also refers to an individual’s sense of personal and social identity based on those attractions, behaviors expressing them, and membership in a community who share them’
We live in a country where anything which is uncommon raises a debating issue and talking about homosexual is nowhere less than a crime in India. Astonishing it is that we live in a country which calls itself ‘democratic’still lags behind in many cases. we people are really strange , we can we can bribe someone for a certain work , we can harass a girl walking on the road for no reason, we can even ignore a person who is really in need of help and we neither think it’s wrong nor we change our attitude. Nobody questions on our attitude but when it comes to love our parents, elders and society members react as if they did criminal offence has been done which has no bail.
Vikram Seth is a celebrated author in the Indian literary scene. The 61-year-old Padma Shri recipient has also penned down a heartfelt poem expressing his anguish over the recent verdict of criminalizing gay sex titled ‘Through love’s great power’.
Astonishing it is that when we come across a couple where a girl and a boy are holding hands in a park we feel it’s beautiful, but if we see two girls or two boys doing the same, we mock over them and at Times even pour satire on them. They aren’t worthless moreover the fact is they not at all being inferior to anyone they are excelling everywhere, the top most fashion designers and hair stylists are homos. Even in India we have Gay television Vj’s and Gay actors who are continuously proving themselves to be awesome.
It is true that we are more likely to fall for the one who understands us completely, not just our words but also our silence. A person who has seen out best and worst and still chooses to stay with us and there happens love. It is really amazing that when the definition of love is so simple why people still criticize love. Love never limits itself to anything not even gender but this cruel society does. This is the major reason for breaking up of many hearts and families where due to family reputation and respect these poor homos have to lose their partners and marry to opposite sex.
Chapter XVI, Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code dating back to 1861, introduced during the British rule of India, criminalizes sexual activities “against the order of nature”, arguably including homosexual acts.
The section was declared unconstitutional with respect to sex between consenting adults by the High Court of Delhi on 2 July 2009. That judgment was overturned by the Supreme Court of India on 12 December 2013, with the Court holding that amending or repealing Section 377 should be a matter left to Parliament, not the judiciary.
‘Love’ cannot be explained in just one sentence, this word is a wide sea which not just includes affection and admiration. True love isn’t about passion or lust or attraction or common interests and personalities. It’s something altogether different. It’s about learning to complement each other, learning to grow with each other. It’s about doing love-things, even when you don’t feel like it, even when life drives you to insanity, even if you think you’ve lost love. It’s about commitment and perseverance and thinking and feeling and happiness.
The culture of marriage has completely changed in last few years and that recognizing same-gender marriage is just another radical change. There still has been a great disagreement of people around whom we live, coming across the reasons for disagreement it was found that most of the reasons were ridiculous. People oppose because a gay couple or a lesbian couple will not be able to produce kids. How sick is that! And in that case should heterosexual couples over 50 years of age not be allowed to marry as they cannot produce kids either?
If two people really love each other and they want to unite their destinies and life together forever then it is the most beautiful thing in the world and it should be happily celebrated rather than opposing or criticizing. Whether it is called “marriage” or “life pact” does not matter, no matter if they can’t produce kinds, no matter if our community does not accept them, if two people are meant to be together they will be together at any cost. Same-sex unions harm no one; one’s support or opposition to this is a matter of personal belief and morality, with which the society has no right to interfere.
